Looking at the Monads in terms of their relationship to other enneadic conceptions can also be helpful in establishing an understanding of them. In keeping with the idea of “As Above, So Below” we expect the inherent nature of the Monads to show in and be able to be studied through any natural ennead we might examine.

 Let us therefore review the ennead of Pythagorean Numerology which should be familiar to you from earlier Lessons.

 

Pythagorean Numerology, unlike CABALISTIC NUMEROLOGY which does not concern us, is based upon the number 9.

 

Pythagoras as you will recall felt that all things could be understood through the inherent nature of Numbers. Pythagorean Numerology has Nine principle Numbers, whose qualities are these:

 

One / Heis –One is a trail blazer: ambitious and courageous One opens new doors and tames new ideas. One is self-confident, assured, and certain of its concepts. One is honest, open, and highly ethical. One tends to believe that there is a right way to do things and that things should always be done right.

 

One represents the God -creation and the created world.

 

Two / Duo –Two is gentle, nurturing, and protective. Two is creative, receptive and often highly psychic. Two likes to work with and be of help to others, and often puts its relationships above itself. Two almost always works in partnership.

 

Two represents the Goddess –Spirit which underlies and is the essence of all things.

 

Three / Treis –Three is optimistic, social, and expansive. Three loves stimulation, excitement, and new experiences. Highly dramatic, Three loves to take and hold attention, and prefers to occupy center stage. Three is fast-moving, opportunistic, and growth oriented –and will always do its best to fill all space available to it.

 

Three represents life –the union of Goddess and God which powers the world as we know it and is the ultimate nature of magic.

 

Four / Tettares –Four is determined and hard working. Four is all about the expression of essence through form, and works hard to understand the underlying structure of things. Four is practical, materialistic, and pragmatic. Four craves stability and security, and works to create enduring forms.

 

Four represents the Elements and manifestation –the ability of life to express itself through external form.

 

Five / Pente –Five is all about mind power, and the application of intelligence to improve situations. Five uses its intelligence to create relationships and pathways to benefit itself: Five rules education, commerce, travel, and all communication media.

 

Five represents movement and cycles –the processes which physical life is subject to and by which existence is furthered.
