There are two main branches of Egyptian religion active in the world at present. The first are the Kemetans, the second the Isians.

Kemetans are RECONSTRUCTIONISTS who generally attempt to revive ancient Egyptian religion as it was in ancient Egypt. Their ideas, ceremonies, and customs are taken from the ancients with more or less variation. There are a variety of Kemetic groups, with a wide variation in outlook and practices. Some capture the open, confident, synchretic spirit of ancient early Egypt, others tend toward the narrower, inward, more hidebound spirit of Egypt’s twilight. The best Kemetans are majestic and spiritually encompassing. The worst Kemetans, such as the Kemetic Orthodox, are narrow-minded and bigoted, rejecting all syncretism and believing variation sinful, and have more in common with Southern Baptists than with the very open-minded and eclectic Egyptians of Pharonic times.

The second major movement of Egyptian inspiration active today are the Isians, embodied in the Fellowship of Isis. (Note: the ancient followers of Isis are termed Isiac, the modern followers of Isis are termed Isian) The Fellowship of Isis was founded at the Spring Equinox of 1576 Pisces (1976 AD) by the Most Rev. Lawrence Robertson, 21st Baron Robertson of Strathloch, his sister the Most Rev. Hon. Olivia Robertson, and his wife Lady Pamela Robertson. The Fellowship of Isis is dedicated to the idea of Isis of Ten Thousand Names: that is the idea that all Deities reflect the same universal Deity Which is within all things. The Fellowship of Isis is also dedicated to the veneration of the Feminine aspect of Deity in all religions. As such the Fellowship builds upon the ideas of the ancient Isiac Priesthood and the long traditions of Egyptian syncretism which gave rise to them.

The Fellowship of Isis is extremely open in its forms, and makes use of a very wide-ranging liturgy mostly written / channeled by Lady Olivia. The use of channeling or Oracles is very important in Isianism, as are Mystery Plays in which important points of doctrine are illustrated through drama. At present the Fellowship of Isis has nearly 20, 000 members in some 90 countries.
