Djed

Associated with the great God Osiris (Asar) and sometimes used as a cipher to represent Him, the Djed pillar represents stability, endurance, eternity. What item the Djed symbol depicts is debated, but it is often said to represent the spine or sacrum bone of Osiris. Some also hold that the Djed represents a simple house pillar.

Nefer
Nefer is the symbol of beauty, goodness, and all that is pleasant –ideas that were closely linked in Egyptian thought. The Nefer is generally thought to represent a stringed instrument popular in ancient Egypt and similar to a modern banjo, but there are also those who hold the symbol to depict the trachea and vocal chords.

Nub
The symbol “Nub” (or “Gold”) represents gold or anything exceedingly precious or valuable. Unlike many of the symbols discussed here, “Nub” is actually the hieroglyphic sign for “gold” and is used in hieroglyphic writing –indicating a later origin for this symbol than many. Like most of the other symbols however, the meaning of “Nub” is much clearer than what item the image actually depicts. The Nub symbol is sometimes thought to depict a low throne or dais, and it is often used this way in imagery where it will sometimes be seen as a dais for a Deity. However it is also thought that it is a depiction of the famous usekh collars worn by ancient Egyptians.
